Poem: "The Muse Returns"

You left me abruptly
Two months ago
Waiting for your next move,
I held my pen

I needed you greatly
In those long days
The air was thick and still,
And you hid well

If I’d known you’d desert me
I would have planned
Instead of waiting here,
Cautious and closed

You’re back now but slowly
My pen resumes
Writing with your guidance,
I toast to you
